Victimology and Work Life

The theory of victimology narrates that a person becomes the victim of crime due to his lifestyle. If we talk in the context of work life than Victimology says “if a person is not happy at his workplace and he is constantly pressurized and tortured than there are greater chance of him involving in crime“ These illegal activities involve harassing the fellow colleagues, bullying and other activities which can hurt the workplace sanity and peace. If we look deeper into the problem we find that since he was not happy at his workplace due to his sub-ordinates or bosses and faced problems due to them there can be a mental problem of torturing other in order to achieve his mental satisfaction, though this is not right always but at times. Another reason of this wicked mind is that he has been facing lifestyle problems at his office which can result in his involvement in criminal activities outside the workplace (Leymann&Gustafsson, 1996).

In such case, the person deviates from his motives of life and started to perform illegal activities due to his mental satisfaction. These activities may involvement in things like snatching people's belonging, injury them while robbery etc. Therefore it is very important that a person should be treated properly at office in order to get benefits from his and avoiding the conflict in the society. If decent lifestyle is also not available to the people at the office they can switch to some other organization which can value his needs and can accommodate him in a better way (Barling& Rosenbaum, 1986).

Victimology and Social Life

Victimology has great influence on the social life of a person. If a person feels the problem in his social lifestyle and he is not able to align himself with the present problems than the chances of him hurting other and blaming them for that particular action increases a lot. This is because a person is sociologically imbalance and therefore his actions are also not mature. In pathological cases, extreme victimization may be linked with disorders like paranoia which is a psychological disorder.
