Introduction

The dispute of violence spread by video games is of great interest these days. Many games like Mortal Combat, Doom, and Wolfenstien 3D have received a great deal of attention since 1999, when two children from Colorado, Columbine High School shot and murdered thirteen fellow students and ultimately killed themselves. The discussion about the negative influence of video games even reached the senate of United States in 2000, while many researchers studied the impact of video games on children. Despite the fact, that we can obtain knowledge from present studies on types of media, studies with a focus on violent video games is extremely limited (Gentile &Anderson, pp. 3).

Recent studies show that kids and adolescents spend a considerable amount of time in playing video games for their entertainment. This research paper has resulted in evaluation of relationship between the playing video games and violence in society. Discussion

The problem of video game violence has brought great attention of U.S. Senate and newsroom. At commerce committee hearing, many investigators examined that there are some authentic theoretical and empirical causes exposed to youth through violent video games, which should be taken into consideration. The leading players of video game industry refuse to accept the negative impact of their games on society. There is one little bit of truth in the denial of the industry. Particularly, the reality that few extremely publicized murders of school were done by people who were habitual of playing violent video games is not authentic evidence that aggression is increased by violent video games. The population of United States consumes a great deal of media violence. Children between the ages of 8 to 18 years spend more than forty hours in a week on some kind of media, excluding homework and assignments. They spend time on watching television more frequently; however, electronic video games are obtaining popularity among children. Around 10% of kids between ages of 2 to 18 years like to play computer games more than one hour every day. Old boys between ages of 8 to 13 years spend more than 7.5 hours every week in paying these video games. Same is the case with students of colleges. According to the research program of the Cooperative Institutional Research, in 1998, 13.3% of boys taking admission in college used to play six hours every week as high school senior. In 1999, the proportion raised to 14.8%. In addition to it, 2% of male stated playing video games more than 20 Hour every week, in 1998.
