Water Quality and Contamination

Abstract

Environmental pollution is increasing day by day with an increased pace. There are many problems that are raised by this environmental pollution. In case of the water bodies this is quite true. There are many toxic wastes, emission and effluent are being released, which causes in large degree of toxic release and dangerous metals in the water, local ground. As the untreated industrial effluents are discharged, the quality of the ground water is deteriorated to the level that it has adverse effect on the available good quality, clean and healthy drinking water. Usually, water quality and contamination issues are raised in the third world country where the water is not treated properly or the industrial waste contaminates the clean water which becomes hazardous for the people living in the country. However, Raw Sewage Continues to Contaminate Waterways in New England. This was to be tested and water samples were collected and were analyzed for the pH, Total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, alkalinity, sulphate (SO42), chloride (Cl-), sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+).

Testing Water, Water Test, Lab Report

Introduction

Safe and healthy water is not just the essential need of person yet it has an extraordinary impact on the every part of life. It was impossible to manage life without water (Baloch & Ahmad, 2012). The quality of water depends upon physical, biological and chemical characteristic of the water. The most widely recognized method used to survey water quality identify with wellbeing of biological systems, wellbeing of human contact and drinking water.

Water can lead to many diseases such as kidney problems, cholera and many other. Water is a vital part of life; one cannot deny the utmost importance of this compound in our life. The diseases are transmitted as one washes, drinks, baths and uses the water. Huge level of contamination has taken place as industrialization has reached to its peak and it keeps on increasing. Industries dump their wastage in the water channels without properly treating it initially. They have no regards for eco system and humans as they seem to destroy both. Similarly, as population has also increases, the sewerage line was not made properly thus we face the dilemma of polluting the water.

The objective of this study is to determine the quality of water and to level its contaminated. In this lab, methods were used to check the quality and contamination will determine the process adapted in order to achieve the result. The result will then ensure that people use healthy and clear water and not contaminated.

Raw Sewage Continues to Contaminate Waterways in New England, and this should be tested in order to see if it's safe to drink this water or not (Doug, n.d).

Some methods were used to detect the water quality and contamination. The results were then analyzed and assessed. This report discusses the procedure and the result of the method used.
