Methods of Stress Management for Family Members of Patients

It has been seen after the recent meta-analyses conduced for caregiver interventions have found a very mixed result. There are several ways which were suggested as the way to make those family members less stressed and able to cope up with the current state. The first method can be Multi-component interventions, this can be a very effective tool to confront the situation; this can be provided through support groups or education, which is definitely (Acton and Kang, 2001). The second one can be comprehensive counseling sessions. Counselling appears to be an effective one when it comes to improving the quality of life for the caregivers of the survivors (Jang et al, 2004). The third one might be respite care interventions (interventions with intervals) can also effectively reduce the caregiver depression and also increase the well-being of the sufferer (Sorenson, 2002).

Theory of Hardiness

There are so many theories which are devised in the particular context with an intension of making the related patient benefits in all the possible manners. The famous theory of hardiness is also a contribution made with similar intentions in which there are three major constructs, which are control, commitment and challenges.

The term control is for referring to an individual's belief that the particular causes any event of his or her life and is also able to influence the environment. Commitment on the other hand refers to the tendency of a person to be involved in what is being encountered or this might be for a feeling of a very deep involvement in various activities of the life. Challenges in end are the term used for the willingness of undertaking some change, confronting the activities and also obtaining the opportunities available for growth.
