Abstract

Macbeth receives, in The Tragedy of Macbeth, the same prophecy from three witches he will become King of Scotland. In the result of the prophecy, the Macbeth becomes fixated, and he, along with his wife, makes a plan to hold all the affairs into his own hands. On the other hand, listening to the advice of the lady Macbeth, he starts murdering in order to clear his way to the throne. At the end of the he, along with her wife, recognizes that have done something wrong instead of enjoying the throne what he gets finally. They both, Macbeth and his lady, become distressed being guilty of a number of murders.

Introduction

The play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, reveals the appearance three witches. The beginning of the play also sheds a light on the prophecies of the three witches as well the victory of two generals, Macbeth and Banquo, of the Scottish King Duncan that they have overwhelmed two invading armies that were against the Scottish King Duncan. After invading Macbeth and Banquo come across the witches who prophesy that Macbeth will become the King of Scotland. On the other hand, the witches also prophesize that the children of Banquo will become heir to the Scottish throne. As the witches disappear, Macbeth and Banquo start treating their prophecies hesitatingly and doubtfully, but with the appearance of the men of King Duncan and their greeting to the Macbeth being the thane of Cawdor, the prophecy seems to be true for them. Macbeth writes to his wife, Lady Macbeth, and tells the entire story he experienced.

Lady Macbeth forwards her wish that the kingdom for her husband and urges him to kill the King of Scotland, Duncan, in order to gain the kingdom. Subcequently, they, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth accomplish the plan of killing the King at an extremely night. At the official announcement of the death of Duncan next morning, Macbeth kills the chamberlains and thus easily gain the kingship. On the other hand, they are afraid of the prophesy of the witches that the children of Banquo will inherit the throne. Ultimately, Macbeth, with the help of professional murderers, kills the son, Fleance, of the Banquo. Although he has killed the Banquo, but his ghost does not let the Macbeth heave a sigh. Subsequently, he contacts to the witches, and they try to relieve him.

At the end of the play, the Malcolm, the son of Duncan, restores the throne from the Macbeth with the aid Macduff. Although formerly he was weak and unsure to his own power because he and Donalbain escaped the Scotland after the murder of their father.
