ABSTRACT

This study is significant as it provides the history and background of black male artist.

The American music originated in the 19th century and is influenced by the African culture.

Black artists in the 1960s and 1970s both mounted an organized challenge to institutional exclusion and simultaneously experimented with form and material in what described as "the dialectic between aesthetic and political critique" The growing divides between whites and black in economics, social mobility, and political voice make the seemingly semidiurnal nature of American racism and the material privileges of whiteness of importance to scholars of leadership and transformative political engagement According to the study by Music industry Danner (1990), there are 11 black men and 3 black women among the top executives among $ 13 billion music industry.
