WW II & Vietnam War

Introduction

The unsteadiness and volatility generated in the Europe by the result of Great World i.e. the First World War (1914-1918) made ground for another global clash that is the World War II (1939-1945). This war came up after the two decades, proving more shocking and destructive.

The rise of power in an unstable political and economical country Germany, Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party militarized the nation and started their future objectives of world dominance by signing planned agreements with Japan and Italy. The conflict took more lives and destruction of property and land around the whole world for around sixteen years. In the World War II, a probable number of 45-60 million people were killed (Harper, 2007).

The Vietnam War was a costly and long armed dispute that rutted the government of communists of North Vietnam and its southern alliances, mainly known as Viet Cong, against the South Vietnam and its main alliance, the United States. The beginning of the war was in 1954, after the rising of supremacy of Viet Minh and Ho Chi Minh in North Vietnam.

The war continued in the background of a powerful Cold War between the two worldwide superpowers the Soviet Union and the United States. In this war, about 3 million people were killed in which 58,000 Americans were also included and about 50% of the dead were the civilians of Vietnam. The involvement of United States increased in 1969 and as a result approximately 500,000 U.S. military personnel were included in the conflict of Vietnam.

This war was the extension and prolongation of the conflicts that were left disconcerted by the World War I, after a perturbed duration of 20 years. The World War II incurred about 40,000,000 to 50,000,000 deaths which made it the largest conflict and the bloodiest clash in history (Britannica, 2012).

The outcome of World War II resulted in the addition and expansion of the power of the Soviet Union to the states of Eastern Europe. This permitted a communist movement to attain control in China and cleared a crucial swing of authority in the globe from the states of Western Europe and headed for the Soviet Union and the United States.

U.S. involvement in the World War II

The role of United States in the World War II started a bit late in December 1941. The time when United States entered the conflict, most of the Europe was captured by Germany while Japan also initiated to assault the Asian countries. The decision of the United States entering the World War II means that the whole country including the human and material resources ...
