Introduction

In today's fast pace of competition, the organizations are required to implement such strategies and approaches in the business and operation management systems that can provide them ultimate success and growth. The work performances of the employees have significant impact upon the success and growth of the organizations. Therefore, the managers of the organizations pay careful consideration to the performances and the motivational factors of the employees so that they can achieve the targeted goals and objectives. The managers manage the employees by implementing various strategies and approaches to maintain their work performance and the motivational levels. In every organization, there occur the conflicts and disagreements among the employees on the daily basis. Particularly, when the employees work together in the groups and teams to accomplish certain team objectives, the employees may develop conflicting issues which can directly and negatively impact their work performances.

The conflicts in the organization cannot be avoided by the mangers at any costs. The conflicts must be resolved as it has significant impact upon the performance and profitability of the organization. It is very essential to recognize the conflicts in time so that the effective measures can be taken in time. Most of the conflicts occur in the workplaces where the completion of organizational objective depends upon the collaboration, team work, and mutual creations of the employees. Many times the attitude of dominance develops within some employees because they feel dissatisfaction or they may have high level of self interests. It has been recognized that, within the organizations, the taking care of mutual relationships have been effected with the changing business trends and with the increases implementation of diversity. There are various negative impacts of the conflicts among the employees. It decreases the work performances of the employees, the communications among the employees is badly affected, the employees' motivational level decreases, the dissatisfaction in the employees decreases and thus all these directly affect the organizations overall performance. Many times the rising of conflicts is potential for the encouragement of learning and for getting knowledge. It also promotes the implementation of new technologies, approaches and ideas in the work operations that further enhances the work performances. Therefore, the conflicts have also found to be effective for the development of behaviors and trends within the organization.

The following section aims at discussing the literature review relating to the styles of the conflict management that are used by the managers in the organizations to manage and resolve the conflicts among the employees.
