There are number of historians who have long argued that one of the most long-term myths of history lies in the concept that the discovery and conquest of the Americas was able because of the heroic acts of a couple of men like Columbus, Cortes, and Pizarro. Which is true indeed.

Dicussion and Analysis

There are many persons who can be termed the direct founding fathers of The United States. Such persons are The crusaders, Columbus, Marco Polo, Cortez, Pizarro. The Crusades were a sequence of holy wars fought to win the holy land of Christianity. Even though these conflicts failed in the respect of winning the land back, they did achievement in another aspect. The crusaders presented a way of life to the Europeans in the Holy Land that was more tempting than they knew before. Following the wars the Europeans came back and they created a market to deliver the attractive goods they came accustomed to in the Holy Land. This was one cause for the starting of investigation, and ultimately led to the discovery of America.

As citizens of the United States of America, nearly every person in today's society is well known with the title Christopher Columbus. Sailing over the Atlantic in the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria in 1492, Columbus was the man who landed on the countries of North America and founded Euro-American humanity.

Yet for most of us, that it where our knowledge ends. Recently however, through a blend of intensified research and expanded education many Americans are starting to inquiry the validity of Columbus's reputation as a chronicled champion. Admittedly, the appearance of the Columbus and the Europeans did have several detrimental consequences, both on the situation of the continent and on its people.

It should furthermore be resolved that inevitably, even without the reality of Columbus, the American continent would have found out at one point by the Europeans, and endured the identical detrimental consequences. Therefore in assessing Christopher Columbus one must not gaze at the fate of the Indians, but rather than at the motives and actions of the man behind the voyage. topped up with good aims and commendable motives Christopher Columbus was on the entire a good man, and warrants the nationwide heroic status which he maintains.
