Bouffard, J. A. & Rice, S. K. (2011) The influence of the social bond on self-control at the moment of decision: Testing Hirschi's redefinition of self-control. American Journal of Criminal Justice, (2)

This study was conducted by Jeffery Bouffard and Stephen Rice. These PhD writers effectively portray the message through this research. Both the writers aimed to explain and examine Hirschi's concept and re-definition of self control because they believe that individuals' self-control can be explained as a tendency that allows them to think about the complete array of possible outcomes associated with any criminal behavior or action. In addition, the authors also suggests that possible cost of any range may vary in number as well as state of being prominent in relation to an individual's self-control level. They further identify that self-control can also be seen in decision-making moment, an individual's degree and way of social bonding also affects his/her self-control.

This study reveals that people who have limited social bonding usually demonstrate less self-control. Such people are also found with limited state of being prominent in terms of making decisions. It has also been seen that people with limited self-control also consider limited potential cost associated with their act. In addition, a drunk-driving scenario discussed in this article is also presented in this study that exemplifies the level of self-control as well as decision-making of a drunken individual. This scenario is also used to recognize potential costs and salience in order to determine individual's self-control.

As far as results of the study are concerned, it can be seen that Hirschi's theoretical framework is found well suited to examining the role and impact of social bonding on individual's self-control and ability to decide.

This research was conducted by Gilligan Donleavy and there is no doubt that Gilligan-Kohlberg's controversial research received widespread attention from various research circles. Donleavy has also made expert recommendations regarding the exploration of the space. However, this controversial research also established a platform for further debate in regard to gender difference and people's role and attitude associated with ethics. This study aims to further investigate the research work presented by Gilligan in view of Gilligan-Kohlberg's ideologies for gender differences. Apparently, Gilligan's evidences appear to be weak in all the cases regardless whether gender identity or physical identity is used or not. In fact, most of the researchers believe that gender differences based on ethical lines in any business setting does not build strong case. However, the suggestions presented in theory and other recent researches emphasize the importance of Gilligan-Kohlberg.

This study aims to identify as well as bridge the space between the theoretical frameworks of Gilligan and Kohlberg. This article also focuses on the notion of Attachment, which is an important element of Care theory and plays a vital role in performing investigations as well as reducing the space between the Gilligan and Kohlberg ...
