"I Want a Wife" is written by a female writer. In Brady's essay, she describes the routine work of a housewife, and explains the routine work is mainly related to housework, and to taking care of all the members in the family. She writes:

I want a wife who will keep my house clean. A wife will pick up after my children, a wife who will pick up after me. A wife will keep my clothes clean, ironed, mended, replaced when need be. [...] will plan the menus, do the necessary grocery shopping, prepare the meals, serve them pleasantly, and then do the cleaning up while I do my studying. (413) as examples of housework. In addition, in her essay, she satirizes how stressful her life as a housewife is by giving an unusual conclusion: "Who wouldn't want a wife" (414)? We can see that she considered doing the housework as a tough job.         

However, on the other hand, in the other essay, Sanders, the male author of "Not all men are Sly Fox," has a very different outlook than Brady. In his essay, he describes the people surrounding him when he was growing up. He says the men he always saw were "labored with bodies", and the women were the ones "who were interested in art or music or literature, the only ones who read books, the only ones who ever seemed to enjoy a sense of ease and grace" (418). Sanders thought the life of being a woman was easier than the life of being a man because being a housewife requires less physical work. However, I think less physical work required does not necessarily mean that it is an easier job. Therefore, we cannot predict that a certain job is hard or not by saying that hard work needs ...
