Review of “KSL Group” organization's practice:

Management and organizational problematic issues

Introduction

The People and Organizational development module helped me in assuring the fact that there is a direct relation and interdependency among the management and organizational development; for the business - Management plays a very important function in controlling and setting up the overall organization in order to provide and connect the employees with the same direction. The organizational environment bounds the employees to work in a similar direction without being loosing the organizational mission. We can say that, the the development of the management and the way of managing the organization will eventually affect the business while the organizational environment will influence the managerial thoughts whereas the profitability only depends on management's function. While working in a very good company the KSL Group I had been acknowledged because of my better understanding of the environment and the perception of the role of management development. In the realistic meaning for me (as a assistant manager) I actually realized with the help of this module the reasons of some problematic issues that came into my working place and I found possible solutions which I will talk clearly and descriptively in this paper. In this assignment I will focus on Management development within the “KSL Group” Company, way of managing (communication and remuneration) and its affect on the organizational development.

“KSL Group” background

KSL Group is a sugar factory in Thailand, was established in 1946 by the three co-founders who were Chinese-Thai businessman. As a honor to the company's co-founders, the name, KSL, is derived from the three English alphabets of its former name, Kwang Soon Lee. They vividly envisioned the strong potential of the sugar industry in Thailand and decided to jointly found a company; Kwang Soon Lee Co., Ltd, and Mr. Chuan Chinthammit became its first Managing Director. The others co-founders were all directors. They provide sugar in high-standard quality.

Over 60 years of experience, KSL Group had developed the manufacturing process and the quality of the product continuously by seeking the proper raw material, bringing new technology to use in the manufacturing process, testing quality in order to satisfy customers. The company was the first sugar factory that adopted modern technology to produce granulated sugar directly from fresh sugarcane juice. Therefore they become one of the leading sugar manufacturers both in Thailand and Asia. The company's head office located in Bangkok, they provide products and services mainly to global market. For others factories are located in up-country; Chon Buri, Khon Kaen, and Kanchanaburi province. Factories manufacture products and distribute to local area. They have wide range of customers both within country and internationals. Customers are mainly from Thailand, China, the United State, Korea, and Japan.
