Introduction

January 17th, 1706 Abiah and Josiah Franklin were blessed with the birth of a baby boy, a boy who would augment up to be a great man. A author, an inventor, a scientist, a diplomat, and a man that would play a major function in shaping the world he dwelled in .His name was Benjamin Franklin.

Josiah was an Englishman who shifted to Boston in 1683. He was a candle and lather maker and the father to seventeen children. In his life he had two wives, one of who was Abiah. She was the mother to 10 of the children. She was born on Nantucket Island and her 8th progeny was named after her husband's male sibling Benjamin. Josiah liked all of his sons to be educated and to discover a trade. When Benjamin became of age he was sent to grammar school. He did very well in reading and composing but was struggling with arithmetic. In alignment to learn a trade, Ben's father took him out school at the age of 12. Ben was sent to be an apprentice to his male sibling James at his publishing office. Ben loved to compose but was smart sufficient to understand that no one wanted to read about what a juvenile boy had to say so he composed in secret under the name Silence Dogood. He would slip his stories under the doorway of his brother's publish shop and his male sibling would publish them. The persons in the village loved to read these stories, but eventually James discovered out who Silence Dogood really was. He got very upset at Ben and their relationship was not ever the same.(James , 2000)

Ben furthermore loved to read. He one time read a publication about swimming and from it taught himself a basic swimming stroke. In perhaps what was his first creation, Franklin made timber paddles for his hands and feet so he could swim more efficiently. He also read a publication about the dangers of eating meat and determined to become a vegetarian reasoning that this lifestyle would be healthier and would save him money.

 

Discussion

In 1723 Benjamin made the alternative to leave his family and proceed to Philadelphia. In 1724 Benjamin sailed to London to study the latest expansion in printing. While he was there he became acquainted with a broad range of Englishmen from various walks of life. While there he also purchased some publishing equipment. He returned in 1726 with a vast information of the publishing profession.(Herbert, 1999)

On Ben's voyage dwelling he came up with a plan "for regulating my future perform in life." His Puritan and Quaker background inspired this plan. At first he came up with a couple of ideas such as; to be frugal for some time until his debts were paid, to endeavor to speak reality in every instance, to apply himself in whatever business he had taken to hand, and to speak sick of no man not even in a matter of ...
