We can discover reasonable matters regarding Lutheran theology if we go to the Sunday school and survive verification.  If we concentrate on the sermons, we can have an additional basis of wisdom regarding the Bible, its teachings, and what it says (and what it doesn't say).  At times, although it's good to sit down and in one shot study about what Lutherans educate on a number of diverse matters. This is exactly what Veith suggests in “The Spirituality of the Cross: The Way of the First Evangelicals”.  If someone wants to know about the uniqueness of Lutheran theology, and he doesn't have enough time to go thorough scholarly or thick books or articles regarding the topic, Veith's book is an excellent outline of the key theological distinctions between Lutheranism and other Christian denominations. 

There are basically five major topics that have been covered by Veith. All these topics are fundamental to Lutheran spirituality; however they are not always an essential part of other denominational elucidations of the Bible.  Justification, the means of grace, the theology of the cross, vocation and living in two kingdoms are the terminologies that one might not hear on a ordinary basis. That is the reason why this book is a valuable one, and should to be regarded as a book to go through multiple times on a habitual basis throughout the life.

The main purpose of Veith is not really to provide theological opinions against other denominational approaches to the belief, but actually he has demonstrated the Lutheran approach in the simplest possible manner. Veith has carefully reflected his ideas in the way that his opinions should not be considered as an attack on the others denominational approaches.
