“Derby Uni Ltd. Co.” deals in the retailing business of computer systems. It initiated from a single room of the house with a low capital investment as it was owned by a young starter. The owner started this business alone but with the passage of time, some employees were hired to look after the sales department.

Before commencing the business, a business plan was made which needed to be implemented. This plan was formulated to make sure that the company progresses with brilliant performance. For this reason, some targets and objectives were set. Meeting these targets was the sole aim of the company as it would be the performance evaluator. The performance of the company would be measured by considering these destined targets.

Service and Support

In order to compete effectively with other brands, we need to offer services and support other than just selling the product to the customers. Our strategy hinges on providing excellent service and support. We need to differentiate on service and support, and to therefore deliver as well.

Training: we offer a free training session to the new users of a computer. This offer attracted several buyers who were unaware of the usage of computers as they found it convenient and avoided going somewhere else to learn to use the computer.

Upgrade offers: at the time of sale, we offered our customers an upgrading of their systems at a lower price after a certain time span. There were a large number of clients who preferred buying computer systems from us due to this offer.

Installation services: our services also include installation services. An expert employee of our company is sent to the destination to install the hardware and software for free.

Custom software services: the buyers who needed computers for their official purposes demanded customized softwares. They preferred us while buying the systems as we offered customized software services which met their needs. There are also more than one unit ordered if the sale id=s meant for some company or official use.

Competitive Comparison

The only way the company could hope to differentiate well is to offer the best products and services to its clients with unmatchable quality. It will not be able to compete in any effective way with offering poor quality services and products. And this has been done quite effectively as the complaint ratio from the customers is much lower than the ratio of a competitive company of same size.

The benefits it sells include many intangibles: confidence, reliability, knowing that somebody will be there to answer questions and help at the important times. And this all happened during the carrying out the business.

These are complex products, product knowledge and experience, need to be carefully used, while our competitors only sell their own products.
