Introduction

When I first signed up for this career course, I really thought it did not matter because it was just required and did not seem important. After taking the assessment tests it has help me understand and back up my decision in what I would like to pursue as my career. Taking the Focus II, Strong Interest Inventory, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator has helped me to understand my personality, strengths, weaknesses, and given me a better overall understanding of my abilities.

After taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, my code was ESFP. Characteristics that are frequently associated with ESFP are a person who is outgoing, friendly, and accepting. Exuberant lovers of life, people, and material comforts. Enjoy working with others to make things happen. Bring common sense and a realistic approach to their work, and make work fun. Flexible and spontaneous, adapt readily to new people and environments. Learn best by trying a new skill with other people.

The results of my Strong Interest Inventory showed have a letter code of CE which is for Conventional and Enterprising. Because the code CE is next to each other on the hexagon, they share similar interest even though I have a higher taking to the Conventional part. My strongest motivator is organizing, with also showing high interest in persuading and selling. Other people who have this code seem to enjoy supporting the work of others, usually in business settings. Also they have structured results-oriented work environment and also being close to the center of power.

My results showed I have a high interest in Data Management, as well as in Mathematics. High interest was in Office Services and Computer Activities. Average interests were in Athletics, Organizational Management, Merchandising, Sales, Teaching, and Culinary Arts. The results showed I have a high interest in occupations such as an accountant, banker, bookkeeper, actuary, credit manager, and business education teacher. In the occupational scales information table my number occupation was being an accountant. This showed I like to compile and analyze financial information, design financial systems, maintain accounts and records and audit contracts.

My score in the Work Style scale is 50. It showed I may enjoy a balance of working alone and working with others. On the Learning Environment scale my score is 33. It shows that I am interested in applied or practical problems. The Leadership Style scale scored 41 suggesting that I probably am not interested in assuming an outgoing, directive leadership style. I may be comfortable leading by example and making

In the Focus II career and educational planning system testing helped to find and give great information in different employment positions. It helped show things such as work activities, occupations matching interests, education, personality, skill levels, and leisure interests. The final phase of the Focus II shows a summary of self-improvement needs.
