Case of Mary

Abstract

There are many obligations on a community counselor. A counselor must be rational and be without prejudice in assessing a case. Latest psychological diagnostic guidelines are used in the analysis of mental issues related to the case subject. A logical conclusion is achieved by suggesting proper mode of advice and future course of action. If right guidelines are followed, good results can be achieved by all local community center counselors.

Case of Mary

Introduction

In Mary's case, one has to assess and enhance the safety and care of the patient. The establishment of mental disorders is also important. Collaboration with the patient must be done to develop resources for a systematic treatment. Evaluation must be done on several grounds. We need to specify Mary's legal and ethical issues in relation to her mental disorders and pregnancy problems. A positive relationship with the client needs to be achieved for good resolution of issues. It is very unethical to be living off prostitution with a partner who is not willing to work. The transference issue is also there as the case subject has never been to a counselor and is in an uncomfortable territory. She wants to be very open to the counselor to have a clear and objective advice on her current situation. The counselor must also keep in mind about the counter transference. The counselor must push aside his or her personal thoughts arising within the circumstances and provide a clear and open environment to the test case. This paper will reflect the test case of ...
