Why have an increasing number of universities varied ticket prices to games based upon the opponent?

The regular price of a football match ticket is $40, but this ticket price is not constant amongst different universities in the foot ball league. Most of the universities tend to charge extra for games which are rated as high-profile games amongst potential rivals. Therefore, in possible circumstances, when there is a big match between tow arch rivals, important match with respect to the points table standings and similar reasons, universities are bound to raise the ticket prices from $40 to a maximum of $65. This variable pricing for ticketing may only applicable for matches that have promise to bring house full of audience, thus generates substantial revenue. This is the reason why, more and more universities altered ticket prices for matches on the basis of opponent, because opponent defines the nature and significance of the game.

Why must universities consider the consumer before raising ticket prices?

Whenever, there is a need to alter the ticket pricing, it is very important to keep the consumer insights into consideration. Raising ticket price can be a tricky decision as it could bring down your revenue if consumers are not willing to pay extra without any logical reason. Therefore, you must first understand the consumer insights, define your target market and then decide to increase ticket pricing.
