Sally's case is a case of schizophrenia in which the three major factors, the Biological, Psychological, and And Social Factors come to play a strong role. Her grandparent had been reported to have strange habits and behavior, although never diagnosed there is a strong suspicion that he was schizophrenic. Before her birth her mother continued to smoke and also suffered a severe bout of fever. Although when young sally was intelligent and an average child yet the psychological factors started acting up triggering her towards a schizophrenic attack. Her parent's marriage was not stable, there were disputes. The parent had separated for 10 months when she was 2 years old. Her father was a traveling salesman and thus was absent from home for long periods of time. The mother was overprotective of Sally thus restricted her outings.

In school she was smart yet never performed to her full potential. After graduation she got into college. She could not take the stress of a new environment and started manifesting symptoms of scezophrania, like talking to herself etc. One day she was found catatonic in her room exhibiting the condition “waxy flexibility” and also showed hebephrenic behavior.

After getting discharged from hospital, she got even more withdrawn; her father suffered a heart attack. Thus making the condition more sever. One night she was caught by the police walking in the pond in a park. She was transferred to a mental facility.
