Cell phone has undoubtedly brought many advantages to the society and many will say that it has made life easier for people especially in the current hectic lifestyle. However, there are many negative effects that cell phones have had on society and the rate at which this technology is growing these negative impacts will continue to grow as well. In this essay we are going to look at affect cell phone is having on individual' life. Also we will analyze its negative and positive9impact as well.

It might seem beneficial for the society that the cell phone technology is becoming so advanced and cheap for the youth because of their financial limitations however; the reality is that cell phones are emerging as a hegemonic power in influencing and dominating the lives of the youth. Cell phone has been proven harmful for health as the radiation that a cell phone extracts can be harmful for the brain and can cause cancer or other diseases. Cell phone users especially the young ones sometimes have a habit of using cell phone while driving which has resulted in numerous serious injuries. Other than physical harm cell phone has also played a part in the declining of social capabilities that individual should have and there is a risk involved that individual might have completely obliterate most of their social skills by the time they become adults. As individual become exposed to cell phones from an early age it is inevitable that cell phone becomes part of their day to day life as they grow and thus they communicate with other people more and more through cell phones and thus the idea of face to face communication starts to become less and less important to the individual (Goggin, pp 34-289).

Excessive usage of cell-phones can lead to serious health hazards especially hazards related to your brain. Depending on how close your head is to a cell phone antenna when you're talking on the phone your brain can absorb up to sixty percent of the mobiles radiation. Also, the fact that owning a cell phone is becoming increasingly affordable younger children can easily obtain a cell phone. Another major health risk with cell phones is the usage of cell phones while driving a car. This is considered a very dangerous practise while driving and is even banned in some provinces in US and in some states in the US. However, hands free calling is allowed in US and studies suggest that it might not be any better for drivers either. Utah psychologist found out that people driving while having a conversation on a hands free phone are equally impaired as having 0.08 alcohol level in their blood stream. The level of impair is determined by the type of conversation the person is having on a hands free phone and a heated argument on the phone can totally divert the drivers' attention from the road (Ling
