Defining Oppositional Defiant Disorder

The American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, Fourth version (DSM IV), characterizes oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) as the recurrent pattern of negativistic, defiant, disobedient, and hostile demeanor in direction of administration figures that perseveres for at least 6 months.
