Introduction

Jesus was a divine being enjoying ultimate power over nature and spirits. As recorded in Gospels, his miracles were the supernatural deeds that can broadly be categorized into four types: cures, exorcisms, resurrection of the dead and control over the nature. His miracles suspended the laws for nature through divine intervention, some of those miracles demonstrate moral marvels; forgiveness of sins, while purifying the soul. We will discuss all the miracles as recorded by the writers of the New Testament of the Bible, in chronological order in which they occurred. Further, we shall include the two central miracles that involved Jesus Christ; the virgin birth and the resurrection.

Discussion

The first outmost miracle was the birth of Jesus through Holy Spirit. Mary gave birth to Jesus and she was a virgin when she was expecting Jesus. This miracle is recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke on the New Testament of Bible. Mary's husband Joseph intended to give her a divorce being faithful to law but he went through a dream where an angel of Lord directed him to take Mary home and accept her as his wife since the conceived child was through the Holy Spirit. Joseph did as directed but consummated their marriage as she gave birth to her son whom they named Jesus (Mathew 1:18-25) (Kasuga, 2007).

The first miracle witness by Jesus's disciples was transforming water into wine. Jesus attended a wedding with his mother and disciples at Cana; a Galilee within the Biblical land of Israel, near to Nazareth where he was nurtured and resided in his childhood. Jesus asked the servants to fill the jars with water and as the jars reached the master of banquet, the water turned into wine (Staub, 2006). This performance was the initial sign that revealed his glory and amazed his disciples (John 2:1-11).

Once more Jesus visited Cana in Galilee, when a royal official's son was closed to death. The royal begged Jesus for his life. As the man departed taking Jesus's word, he discovered that his son was living and recovered the moment Jesus said 'your son will live' (John 4:46-54). Further, Jesus once was preaching in a synagogue in Capernaum and a man with impure spirit shouted at him. Jesus healed him and the news spread eventually with incredulity when people started believing and recognizing his powers in the whole region of Galilee (Mark 1:21-28, Luke 4:33-37) (Moss, 2010). Similarly, Jesus healed mother in law of Simon Peter, a sick during the evening, a leper, a centurion's servant, a paralyzed man, a withered hand, a Gerasene demon possessed man, two blind men, a mute man possessed by a demon, healed many on Gennesaret, a man being crippled for 38 years, a demon possessed girl, a deaf man with a speech impediment, a blind man with Bethsaida, a man born blind, a boy possessed by demon, a blind and mute man possessed by demon, a women with an 18 ...
