Introduction

The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures relating to our topic i.e. communication phenomenon (internet). In this paper, we will examine various aspects of communication (internet), we will also assess the relevancy of the internet to our audience and how it benefits from learning about it. The communication through internet, most importantly, on a broader scale the term “new media” entails the excessive usage and the employment of the digital mediums. This term is in direct contrast with the conventional or old media, which principally constituted of numerous magazines or newspaper, encompassing idle words only. Therefore, when the world refers to the term new media, it entails all the digital equipped mediums which render the access to communication, information, as well as entertainment; For instance, the advent of internet in the new age. With the internet, communication and media itself totally took a new shape and form; and the way entertainment and information is rendered to consumers or audience, is totally opposite to way media was propagated in earlier times. A mere click on the internet has rendered immense options and opportunities to the consumer or the audience (Warren, 2011).

Discussion & Analysis

Internet communication allows the exchange of information in different formats (text, sounds, videos, pictures) through specific tools. These communication tools allow the creation of links and foster instant communication regardless of time and place. Internet also facilitates simultaneous communication between multiple users and becomes a powerful tool for marketing. Everyone can express themselves on the internet, especially through social media that provide new forms of business communications. The main objective of a communication on the internet is to unite communities with specific targets and a schedule under control. The Internet communication does not only allow a full transposition of traditional marketing strategies, but offers different tools, with their advantages and disadvantages (Warren, 2011). The new media in the modern age comprise of not only the latest digital gadgets, via which a person can have access to his chosen form of entertainment at any time; such as DVD player, tablets, MP3 players, and much more; however, it also comprises of the biggest gadget in the modern world that is internet.
