Introduction

In this paper, three articles about bullying at workplaces and schools are compared on the literary bases. First article is about workplace bullying by Lars Johan Hauge, Anders Skogstad and Sta°le Einarsen (2009). Second study is about trait anger, trait anxiety related in the organizational position by Larsglasø Tinaløkkevie and Ståle Einarsen (2010). And the third article is about school bullying practices that lead to suicidal risks by Young Shin Kim, Yun-Joo Kohand Bennett Leventha (2005).

Comparison of the research questions posed for the studies

Research questions are one of the most important components of any research because; the investigation of the study is conducted on its bases. Owing to this fact evaluating and comparing research questions is quite necessary to assess their validity.

The first article inquires about bullying practice at workplaces that is why it poses the question that “What individual and situational variables predict bullying of others in the workplace?” (Hauge and Einarsen, 2009). Considering this research question, researchers administered a survey, in which they asked respondents about the bullying experiences they had during last six months. They were investigated through the variables defined in the question that are individual variables such as gender, hierarchy, age and status and situational variables that include role ambiguity, decision authority and interpersonal conflicts.

The second article investigates about relationship between the organizational position, anger or anxiety and exposures to the negative actions. That is why the research question of this study includes the queries about the constituents which tell the story of people being self-labeled as a scapegoat of malicious workplace bullying. The research question of the study is quite long and not structured precisely, which increases the ambiguity of the question and the outcomes it needs to reach. Research questions need to be to-the-point and precise so that there validity and reliability can easily be estimated.

The third article is quite precise in its topic which is about school bullying risks of suicides among Korean students of Middle schools. That is why the research question it poses investigates different reasons behind school bullying, particularly in Korean schools which increases the risks of suicides among them. The question seems concise and to-the-point which investigates the emotional, social and behavioral problems that lead to bullying and increase the suicidal risks.
