Introduction

The percentage of women of 40 and older in prenatal health check and obstetrical services has greater than before drastically over the decades. The drastic change in the demographics has a very important role in the pregnancy planning phases, influencing the people surround in the environment (Hilgers, 1988). Due to the major technological changes and advances in presumptions and the prenatal care it is expected for women to have a healthy pregnancy. Nevertheless, many concerns may perhaps be able to arise in this chunk of the population. Minimizing the health risk focused care is one of the important elements of care, it deals not only with minimizing health risk but also deals with meeting the unique psychosocial needs and maximizing health opportunities to achieve the best possible outcome, a healthy baby and a healthy mother (Hilgers, 1992).

Approximately 50 percent of Women over the age of 40 have the problems regarding fertility, and it is very evident that if a woman over the age of 40 gets pregnant, she has the higher risk of trapping in certain complications during a certain month of her pregnancy where as women younger than her would not be in any complications. The complications are mainly related to the age, and it can get as worse as having a life-threatening outcomes for both the baby and the mother. Through a research it has been found out that out of 100 women, 8 at 40 years suffer from the termination of pregnancy. It has been discussed that the increase in the age of the women, results in increasing the risk of having impacted pregnancy by the disease called chromosomal disease.
