Early Life

Elizabeth Carson, an infamous contributor in medieval literature and history, born in Balkans, which lies in the south of the Danube, in Eastern Europe; this region formerly ruled by Byzantine empire but subsequently came under the domination of Bulgarian rebellion. The year was 1259 AD and education influenced by religious believes. As a toddler, Carson went to St. Mary's one of the Orthodox Catholic Churches, the spiritual development that she received right from the start circles around the effort to make oneself nearer to God and more like Jesus Christ. Carson's father was a farmer; she spent her childhood in a small house with a barn and most of her early days where spend with the cattle, milking cows, helping her mother with butter churn and other house chores, like preparing the dinner table. She makes sure that the table cloth touches the floor on the sides, as the extra cloth was to be used as napkins, different verities of knives to be placed properly. People used trenchers instead of plates and consumed most the food by hands. In addition, they had a variety of meat for food such as vulture, swan, dolphin and eel. However, Carson enjoyed chicken and pork, which was occasionally available. Most of the time fruits were served, and spoiled food with spices to cover its taste. Christmas was one of the most prestigious and joyous event for Carson, as she helped her father to get a Yule log that would burn throughout the Christmas Eve of 12 days. She gathered her friends for wassailing and goes door to door singing songs, gathering gifts from her neighbors and enjoying the Eve.
