Advances to decision making can be rather varied, ranging from academic, rationalistic, decision making methods to a less organized, intuitive, decision making style.

Rational decision making methods comprise of a sequence of steps conceived to rationally evolve a desired solution. Intuitive decision making is nearly the opposite, being more instinctive, personal and subconscious in nature.
