Task1: Herzberg's theory of motivation. Explain the attitude of supervisors.

Motivation theory by Herzberg Hygiene is proposed in the belief that an individual's relationship to his work is basic and that his attitude toward his work may well determine the success or failure of the individual. According to Herzberg, motivation of people depends on two factors:

Hygiene Factors

The conditions that surround the individual when it works, comprising physical and environmental conditions of employment, salary, social benefits, company policies, the supervision received, the climate of relations between policies and employees, regulations, existing opportunities, and so on. Corresponds to the environmental perspective are the factors that companies have traditionally been used to achieve employee motivation.

Motivational factors

They have to do with the content of the position, tasks and duties related to the charge itself, producing an effect lasting satisfaction and increased productivity to levels of excellence, i.e. well above normal levels. The term includes feelings of achievement motivation, growth and professional recognition, evidenced by the execution of tasks and activities that constitute a great challenge and have some significance for the job (Tutor2u, n.d).

Quality of supervision

in hygiene factor one of the main thing is quality of supervision .supervision which is able do take right decision on the right time and also who has allot of different qualities

Pay supervision must need to pay on the time

Company policies

company must make polices which is about staff wages, holiday , contract etc

Physical working condition employee have to work in comfortable environment supervisor has to provide break for rest and entertainment like cafeteria

Relation with others

in company everyone have to make good and friendly relationship between each other

Job security

supervisor and company have to provide job security to the staff then they can work with confidence and without tension

Promotion

Motivator factors are to make employee happy like promotion .from promotion employee will be fill more proud and he will work more hard

Opportunities From to provide more opportunities to the staff you can encourage the staff and then he or she will do more work because they have something new to do.

Opportunities for personal growth

also supervisor can provide some personal growth like whatever employee like to do give him this kind of opportunities in this case supervisor need to understand their desire

Recognition

If company or supervisor will appreciate to the staff or always thanks to them when ever staff done something well it makes them more condimental Responsibility

Supervisor has to give more responsibility to the employee because from this they will fill that they are responsible and they have value in company and they will fell good their self (Flat world knowledge, n.d.)
