The ecstasy of St. Theresa (alternatively St Teresa in ecstasy or Transver-beration Santa Teresa) is the central group of white marble sculpture housed in a temple high in the Cornaro Chapel, Santa Maria della Vittoria in Rome. It was designed and completed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, major sculptor of his day who also designed the configuration of the marble chapel, stucco and paint. It is generally considered one of the Roman Baroque sculptures high. The painting depicts a young man hiding in the bushes, looking at a woman on a swing being pushed by her husband.
