Introduction

Social class has great impact in modern education. Due to dynamic changes in technology and growing tools and methodologies of education, social class has also started to affect the standards of education. Social class not only has influenced the way people think and response but it also has changed the mindset of people regarding education. Previously education was considered something which was confined to the people who belongs to a particular society or a particular social class. Nowadays people are much aware of environment and methodologies of education which has encouraged the people to get education.

Social class and social boundaries has started to influence the people and the environment around them. It has not only influence the way people act but it has also changed the mindset. This change of mindset has led to their perception about education. In past the gain of education was something which was supposed to be related to wealthy people only. Now the scenario has changed a lot. People are getting more aware about the importance of education.

Importance of Education

Education is important because through education children are able to learn about the common things and values that prevail in a society. They are able to learn about the happenings in the society when they meet to the individuals that belong to various cultures. The values can be related to any things. It can be about religion, faith or belief, or it can relate to the social living values like cultures, self-discipline, rules and regulations etc. In society which related to industrial development the child gains the ability to perform certain tasks and learn skills that can help him to perform specialized tasks related to his future occupation. Occupational skills can be learnt from the family in traditional societies. Before the industrial revolution the skills required by people to perform certain tasks were learned from their family, now due to this revolution and increase in population the familial structure has become more complicated and the people required skills for a particular task. This is due to specialization and division of labor that are results of industrial revolution. Schools, college and universities aid people with these skills now. Therefore education is important from both perspective i.e. knowledge and skills (LAREAU & CONLEY, 2008, pp. 118).

Social Education and Politics

Education domain is always been a battleground for people of the world. Since education creates awareness, politicians are really afraid of education and people striving for education. Education makes a person aware of the political, economical and social happenings and it can greatly affect the decision making process at mass economic level (SHAVIT, 2007, pp. 140).
