Emotional Intelligence

The term emotional intelligence refers to the human capacity for feeling, to understand, and control emotional states in one self and others. Emotional intelligence is not to stifle emotions, but address and balance them.

Emotional competence determines the degree of skill that we can reach the domain of our faculties, both sensory and intellectual. It determines amount of potential to learn particular skills and how much we have applied up till now. (Dickson, 2000)
