Summary

Global social work is a separate field of practice in social work. Global social work seeks to improve material and social well being of the people all over the world. Global social work is practiced across geopolitical borders and at every level of social and economic organizations. In global social work many governmental and quasi-governmental organizations also have their contribution and perform their work in all the regions of the world. The challenges faced by them in delivering and rendering the services. The scope of this paper is to understand and evaluate the debate going on global social work and on the services. The introduction of the global concepts and competence to the social work profession is because of the increasing interdependent world. The need for the development of global collaboration has given birth to global social work.

The international Association School of social work and International federation of social work was formed in 1928 and 1929 respectively. Some of the events of social, economic and political occurring in any part of the world have an impact on human life.

Social and emotional aspects of learning includes personal and social development, emotional and behavioral skills, emotional literacy, social and emotional competence and emotional intelligence. Social, behavioral and emotional sills apply in all aspects of life like home, school and community life. It is one of the most innovative approach and save people from the problems which they have to face later in their life. According to the longitudinal studies it is found that children face many mental illnesses in their later life due to emotional and behavioral patterns. There are many few schools that have identified social and emotional aspects of learning. Some of the schools have made their focus point to work with their children. Social and emotional aspect of learning now days is seen from a completely different view. It is not considered as the responsibility of schools to work on social and emotional aspects of learning. Duluth model is also known as abuse intervention project. It is a program which is used to reduce domestic violence against women. Minnesota Program development Inc. introduced this program. It is a nonprofit organization in Duluth and this program was found by the social workers of United States. It can be said that if children and women have equal rights than they would not have been facing such kind of issues. The basis of this model is violence is patriarchal. The main focus of this model is on the violence done by the men and their abusive relationship. In this report it is mentioned that people who receive treatment while using this model doe not repeat violent acts again. The probability of not repeating the act is high.
