I have a 3 year Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology Program with over 4 years of experience (2005- Present) as a Senior Geophysical Technologist for a multinational company- Fugro Airborne Surveys, Toronto. Fugro Airborne Surveys specializes in low level remote sensing technologies. Fugro collects processes and interprets airborne geophysical data related to the subsurface of the earth and the seabed using helicopter platform. Fugro's activities are carried out all over the world, and are primarily aimed at providing advice to the oil, gas and mining industry. My duties with Fugro, apart from being a technologist, include operational and logistical handling for overseas projects. Since I don't have a degree, I am not eligible for this program; hence I come under a special applicant category which is why my admission is going to be based on my letter of intention alone.

I am deeply concerned about the literacy rate in India. I have always wanted to do something about this situation. The literacy rate in India is about 65% and the rate of increase of literacy is more in rural areas than in urban areas. Average female literacy is about 55% and average male literacy is about 75%. Within the Indian states, Kerala has shown the highest literacy rates of 90% whereas Bihar averaged lower than 50% of the literacy, the lowest in India. Caste, sex and poverty are some of the main reasons behind this situation.

Over the years working with Fugro, I have developed strong management and communication skills in dealing with clients not only in Canada but also internationally (Australia, New Zealand, United States, Malaysia and Africa).
