In a world full of images, it is easy to become desensitized to the power of the still photograph. It is also easy to forget that women have played a vital role in the development of photography as it rose from a curious discovery that began as a documentary medium and evolved to become a respected profession, an admired art form, and a popular pastime. However, fashion photography has a strong heritage attach to it and evolve throughout the years. During the recent past, we saw an overwhelming change in the field of fashion photography, and taken as a respectable career. More people have entered the field of photography and have made lucrative profits. Fashion photography is an intrinsic part in the field of fashion.

Nevertheless, fashion photography has a significant amount of influence on the worldwide fashion industry. There are many famous names that have emerged in the field of fashion photography. In the following part, we'll be evaluating the work of two famous photographers David LaChapelle and Jason Christopher (Brown, 2009 pp. 253-273).

David LaChapelle studied from North Carolina school of arts and later joined the school of visual arts and art student leagues. He entered the field of fashion photography in 1980s and started his career with New York City galleries. LaChapelle has credit of having shows at more than 300 galleries; therefore, distinct, famous and reputable personalities have appreciated his work, which helped him, in getting his first ever professional photography job at interview magazine (Hartley & Rennie, 2004, pp. 458-479).
