Current State of the Web

The study of the Web as a network reveals the sociological aspects related to content creation. It has been recently applied on this research to create more accurate search engines and more effective algorithms for data mining. In this regard, one must take into account that the global distribution and diversity of content creation of Web domains contrasts sharply with classical recovery for information, which are more controlled and homogeneous. (Berners, 2001)

The modern theory of social networks stems from the work of Stanley Milgram started in 1967. The researcher carried out experiments concerning relationships between people in different social environments, which has provided the basis for the development of techniques for improving the efficiency of search engines. In particular, people can say that researchers have already begun to exploit the structural similarities between the Web and social networks within the concept of Milgram, to significantly improve the search function above engines. (Gillies, 2000)

In other words, the concept of link or link and the notion of connectivity in the context of the Web (which can be studied using mathematical graph theory) have a remarkable analogy with concepts related to the ideas of behavior, respect and common bonds in the framework of the modern theory of social networks developed by Stanley Milgram. The analysis of problems related to hyperlinks on the Web field then acquires a special significance. In the context of this analysis, people must highlight the role played by specialized algorithms based on graph theory. (Naughton, 2000)

In light of this theory, the Web is seen as a directed graph, where graph nodes represent Web pages and segments and sides aimed between pairs of nodes or links represent links between pages. A Web community is a collection of Web pages that deal with a common theme probably created by people with common interests, or at least with intertwined interests or border between them. As an example, we cite groups dedicated to disseminating news and personal Web pages on portals. (Segaller, 1998)

For the treatment of Web communities have used techniques based on graph theory, leading to somewhat sophisticated algorithms. On the other hand, are very important concepts such as connectivity, strong / weak connectivity, called the diameter of the Web (closely linked to the notion of distance) and other items related to the so-called fractal structures, which can be seen in framework of social networks as treatable elements within an approach based on graph theory. Substantiated methods are also used Markov stochastic processes. (Auletta, 2001)

Changes that might occur in the Web by 2020

Virtual drugs, techno-terrorism and reducing the private sphere are some of the challenges facing the Internet in the coming years. But according to some, in 2020 the network will be a thriving business and cost millions of technical devices. There are various statements found in a survey by a group of technology analysts.
