Genetically Engineered Food

Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of genetically engineered food in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on genetically engineered food and its relation with its usage by farmers and customers. The research also analyzes many aspects of consumer and farmer usage of genetically engineered food and tries to gauge its effect on well being of human nature.

Are Genetically Modified Foods Good for Humans or Not?

Introduction

The world in which we live today is moving at a rapid pace. In this rapidly changing world the only thing that is constant is of change. In order to meet the steps with this change and accelerating world this world is producing new and innovative technologies, processes and methodologies. These technological advancements are taking place in each and every field. The field of technology has become so advanced that it even has shown its miracle in the field of food and crops. As we know that each and every phenomenon that is the part of this world and is burgeoning in a continuous pattern never is always face criticism for some of its harmful effects that it creates. Similarly, the usage of technology in the field of food and crops is also subject to certain criticism. The aim and objective of this paper is also to talk about one of the technologies in the field of food and crops. The latest methodology that is selected for this paper is genetically engineered food. This paper makes an attempt to talk about some of benefits as well as detriments of the genetically engineered food.

Thesis Statement

GM foods seem that they would be beneficial to human; however, the harm they can cause overrides that benefit.

Basic information about GM foods

Genetically engineered food is in vogue in today's world. The following part of the paper discusses what this technology is all about and discusses genetically engineered food from variegated perspectives.

Definition

In the genetically modified organisms and genetically modified food crop plants are created for the consumption of human or animal consumption. Genetically modified food uses the technique of molecular biology. In this engineering process of the crops or seed certain modifications are done in order to enhance some of their characteristics or traits. These modifications are done so that they can provide better content of nutrition and show more resistance to the herbicides. Gone are the days when to enhance certain traits of a plant was done by undertaken the procedure of breeding. But, this process of breeding is very time consuming as well as it does not always show or produce the desired outcomes. On the other hand, as compared to the conventional method of breeding, genetic engineering can produce the results as desired and wished. Moreover, this process of genetic engineering is very quick and accurate. For instance, if there is a plant that has very low resistance towards drought then geneticists can isolate a gene that possess the high resistance against the drought and then they can ...
