In economics, glass ceiling refers to situations in which stops advance of the qualified person within hierarchy of an organization at the lower level because of some form of discrimination, most commonly sexism or racism. However, since term was coined, "glass ceiling" has also come to describe limited advancement of disabled deaf, blind and elderly.
