Introduction

Green technology engages the function of engineering principles to the design, planning, operation and construction of the following systems:

Noise and Air pollution control

Drinking water distribution and treatment

General community sanitation

Sewage disposal and water pollution control

Solid and hazardous waste management

Stormwater control and drainage

The facilities and structures that serve these functions, including pumping stations, pipelines, waste disposal sites, and treatment plants, form a major portion of civilization's infrastructure; the private and public works that permit human communities to function and thrive effectively.

The way of green technology includes 02 basic aims:

Environmental health protection to protect the quality of our natural surroundings, including water, air, and land.

Public health protection to assist to prevent the show of diseases among humans.

In fact, there is substantial overlap of these 02 aims due to the relationship between the quality of ecological conditions and the well-being and health of individuals. Actually, the terms environmental health and public health are synonymously used. This paper discusses green technology. This also paper provides a review of basic and pertinent topics related to green technology.

Discussion

Green technology is typically believed to be a part of the civil engineering work, which has usually been called on to design, plan, operate, and build the services necessary for ecological health protection. Until quite just, this particular field field within civil engineering had a number of different names. It was also called;

Environmental health engineering

Pollution control engineering

Environmental technology

Public health engineering

Sanitary engineering

Whatever the occupation is called, a skilled and knowledgeable team of technologists, technicians, and engineers is required to achieve its basic aims. (Alex 2008)

Green technology is an interdisciplinary field since it includes quite a few dissimilar technical topics. Besides such conventional civil engineering topics as hydrology and hydraulics, these contain geology, chemistry, ecology, biology, and others. This variety makes the field interesting and challenging. Luckily, it is not essential to be a specialist in all these topics to apply and comprehend the essential rules of green technology.
