Introduction

In the U.S. as in other countries, the concept of ambulatory care includes medical services, without hospitalization, which accounts for a large share of medical assistance to the population. The private sector outpatient care is taking into account personal physicians (specialists in internal and family medicine, pediatricians), narrow specialists, such as gastroenterology, cardiology, pediatric endocrinology, as well as nurses and other medical personnel.

The purpose of this paper is to enlighten the basic services provided by the healthcare system of United States. This paper explores and compares healthcare system of United States with other industrialized countries. This paper also discusses the cost of the healthcare services provided in United States of America and how nurses play their role in maintain the health of the patients. The paper also discuses a case where it makes it more clear. Finally, this paper enlightens the evolution and reform of the private healthcare insurance and its effect on the cost and quality of the healthcare services in United States (Chinn, 2008).

Discussion and Analysis

Family physicians examine and observe patients, and if necessary refer them to narrow specialists or in hospital. Hospitals or hospitals - the largest component of health care dollars.
