Introduction

This paper has been written with regards to African Americans who had resisted segregation in public transport many times over many decades. However, it was because of Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat to a white man that resulted in a movement as large, long, and seminal as the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Discussion

During 1870 and 1970, the southern U.S. experienced one of the most shameful periods in the history of this country.
