The decision of the United States government to salary conflict against the Vietcong can be glimpsed as a mistake. The Vietcong, or National Liberation Front, was a political administration and armed detachment in South Vietnam and Cambodia that battled the United States and South Vietnamese authorities throughout the Vietnam War (1959-1975).
