Hook Up Culture

Introduction

In this article, Grimes argues that the meaning of date has changed on college campuses in relation to idea of hook up culture. He says that students care more about physical contact than actually having an emotional connection with someone - that love took a backseat to sex. Grimes do not consider the relevance of the rule because he does not give any evidence or testimony to support his claims. However, Grimes does address the admissibility of a rule, using language as a speaker (Grimes) and his audience (fellow students Tufts) agreement. Instead of making vague argument that Grimes is specific, it starts with the definition of "connection" rather than leaving the determination up to the audience (Kathleen, 216). The third rule is sufficient. Grimes are not able to adequately address this rule, because his article is based on personal opinion, not a fact. He lacks data to back up his argument in favor of generalizations of college students. Finally, the article Grimes is open to rebuttal. Another student could answer, making the argument that dating is still there, and that connection is not a phenomenon that Grimes does it to be.

Discussion

I agree with the argument Grimes for the most part. Based on my own observations, it seems that familiarity rather rare in today's college campuses. Of course, there is always a rare couple that stays together throughout college, but for the most part it seems that students are not interested in Commitment. They want to meet the physical relationship without emotional side. One I have had problems in the article Grimes his use of stereotypes about men and women - that's normal for men to sleep with just anyone, but when women do this is unacceptable. The author seems to be holding men and women to different standards. According to Grimes a woman who is connected on the merits "unpaid whore" that people laugh and tell others to sleep with. It seems Grimes makes it work for women by the end of this "Hook up culture" in an attempt to improve its reputation.

The sexual transformation, granted to us by both the Life method Left and the Libertarian Right, pretends to encourage morally neutral sex. But in detail, our up to date sexy norms have a very vigorous, if tacit, lesson code. For example, we aren't presumed to seem bad if the friend we slept with not ever ...
