Introduction

In this assignment, we will be discussing housing organizations providing quality housing services to consumers at an affordable price. A lot of organisations currently exist to serve this cause, but it will be difficult to discuss all in this assignment because of this limitation we will be focusing on Guinness Trust as registered provider and Hackney Homes as the ALMO.

Housing organisations can be defined as associations that residential projects, which comprise of building blocks, consisting of flats etc. these housing societies are clusters of people living together in the same building, flats of the same property created according to the laws for tranquil operations of utilities and other services given to them. These kinds of housing projects must be registered with the registrar of co-operatives (Keating 2000, pp. 384-397).

Guinness Trust

Guinness Trust is one the recognized associate of the Group Guinness Partnership which is part of housing associations. Guinness is famous for providing affordable living facilities to the people of United Kingdom; this trust also registered in United Kingdom.

Guinness formed this trust in the year 1890, he the first earl of Iveagn and great grandson of founding member of Guiness Brewery. Edward Guinness formed this trust to help the poor and homeless people living Dublin and London (Whitehead 1996, pp. 18-22). The Iveagh Trust, which was based in Dublin, at the start of the twentieth century took the duty of Ireland. IN 1962, Guinness trust expanded its aims and objectives outside London and now it functions in every part of England. This trust not related to the Brewery Company, and historical information of its first century was prepared and printed in 1998 by Peter Malpass. The President of Guinness trust is Princess Antonia, Douro's marchioness and the chairman are Deputy Lieutenant and former High Sheriff of Greater London Peter Barton.

The Guinness Trust is divided into three types of housing units. Each of its units functions closely with the residents to give them the premium residential service they want, and whenever they want. The three units of Guinness trust are mentioned below:

1.Guinness Hermitage: It runs through Cornwall to Gloucestershire and all over Havant, in the Hampshire. Their head office is in Bristol.

2. Guinness South: It starts form North Norfolk and goes all over to Brighton, London included. Their head office is situated in Milton Keynes.

3.Guinness Northern Counties: It goes all over to Nottingham starting from Newcastle. Their head office is located in Oldham.

Guinness Partnership serves a broad range of managing residential facilities, and repairs and maintenance service. Guinness Partnership housing company provides a broad range of management housing and repairs services; it undertake anti social conduct, accumulate rent and back community actions such as benefits and employment advice (Doling & Ruonavaara 1996, pp. 31-45).

Hackney Homes
