ABSTRACT

Objective: The focus of Occupation therapy is on development of skill that is necessary in performing the daily activities of children with cerebral palsy. It was the main goal of the systematic review to examine whether the occupation therapy interventions actually assist in the daily life style of the children with cerebral palsy.

Methods: The search was conducted in MEDLINE, CINAHL, and EMBASE; it was extensive based on secondary research. There were studies identified that were both uncontrolled and controlled in designed, they were included. The categories were distinguished and analyzed on individual basis for concluding the significant evidence. Synthesis is formed on the design type, quality of method and kinds of result measures and statistical importance of these findings.

Results: There were three main studies included in this review. The analysis included evidences that were insufficient in effectiveness and efficiency of occupational therapy in the intervention, there was low quality methodological studies presented along with not so significant results.

Conclusion: Regardless of a number of identical studies, there are non-conclusive researches and finding that address the occupation therapy efficiency for children with cerebral palsy. A conclusion related to the matter would be difficult to gather as hopefully the future studies will critically cater the need of methodological clarity.
