“You are the parent of a 16-year-old boy. You come home and find the door ajar. Inside, you discover your son's friend looking in a kitchen drawer. He says he is trying to leave your son a note. On the counter next to him is a lock pick and some of your jewelry. The boy smells of marijuana. You tell the boy to leave immediately and he does. Do you call the police, call the boy's parents, tell your son, or do something else?”

As according to the above mentioned case it is obvious that it is a case of criminal act. This case tells the story about a child who used drugs while hiding his motive behind it. According to my point of view, I will call his parents and tell them about the entire scenario

Defining Criminology

It is a socio-legal general theoretical and applied science investigating the crime as a social phenomenon, the nature and forms of its manifestation, the laws of existence and change, its causes and other determinants, the identity of those who commit crimes, a system of measures to prevent crimes.

The objective of criminology is the crime, the offender, victim and social control. In a narrow sense, criminology is limited to empirical investigation of the crime, the personality of the author and the execution of the sentence. Consequently, there is a listing of offenders and the narrow sense; it focuses on the study of social control.

An extended meaning, however, takes into account the changes in the concept of crime, criminalization and control of deviant behaviour. Criminology which belongs to the realm of empirical science means, first, that the object (crime, offender, victim and social control) is inserted into the world of reality, what is verifiable, measurable and what not in the values. The empirical nature of criminology implies first of all, it relies more on facts than opinions, more on the observation those in speeches.

Determination of criminology (according to the case)

The biological determination of criminal conduct constitutes the essence of criminology positivist explanatory or etiological criminology. Positivist criminological studies turned their attention to criminal, not the crime, let alone the possible configuration of the crime from defensive action-reactive society. This explanatory perspective moves in the field of determinism (biological) and social dangerousness of the individual, finding the "causes" of the phenomenon in the perpetrator of the offense, this approach assumes that the causal reasons are pre-existing repressive social reaction to unleashed with the consummation crime.

Social Process Theories emerge as a scientific reaction against the limitations of structural-functional approach, which shows a deficit with the undeniable explanatory crime of middle and upper classes, no longer tenable structuralism's repeated assertion that crime is only behavior of the lower classes.
