Introduction

There are several differences between English and Spanish as a language. Spanish is named is a language of romance, and if we analyze the history, it was part of Indo-European language. It is deeply associated with Portuguese and Italian. Spanish is also a widely spoken language; almost 400 million people speak Spanish native speakers from Spain, United States of America and Latin America. Both the languages have very wide scope of speakers. Today, English is spoken in all over the world. Though, both the languages have several differences but there are some similarities also.

Discussion

In this section, I will be analyzing the key differences between the two languages; I will also compare both the languages in terms of Grammar rules, structure, and impression.

Key Grammar Differences

Although, there are many grammatical differences between Spanish and English language, but there are some similar aspects as well. The Spanish language user does not follow proper sentence structure, and does not support the appropriate process in using tenses. This creates dilemma for him to understand and speak English language. It can be cited that Spanish learner may use incorrect form of tense, for instance, he might use progressive future instead of simple tense. For example, a Spanish learner might say, “I meet you after the class”, it is incorrect, and the student has used progressive future tense, instead of simple one. It becomes quite problematic for the beginners in interrogatives and negative sentences in English language.\

The word order in Spanish and English is almost same, Subject + Verb + Object. In this regard, Spanish shows more flexibility than English. There are several other grammatical differences between English and Spanish language. A Spanish learner may commit many mistakes while using proper form of sentences and tenses. They may not be able to connect the words through proper connecters, and prepositions.

There are vocabulary differences as well. Spanish is very much influenced from Latin, and in Spanish, people use collection of jargons from Latin. It will be hard for Spanish learner to rapidly use English vocabulary, because they rarely use words from English language. Though there are several minor and major differences between English and Spanish language, but the key difference, which has massive importance is grammatical differences and vocabulary differences. In grammatical differences, there exist forms of speech, differences in use of tenses, sentence structures, preposition, connectors, and modifiers. In addition, another major difference is of vocabulary, there is completely no similarity between the vocabulary used in the English language and the vocabulary used in the Spanish language. As we already discussed that Spanish is highly influenced by ancient Latin language, and uses vocabulary of Latin language. It will be hard for a Spanish learner to use English vocabulary frequently.

Moreover, in grammatical concerns of Spanish language, it is also observed that Spanish speaker cannot use appropriate form of verbs in tenses. The speaker may face difficulty due to huge difference between Spanish form of sentences, English form of ...
