Introduction

The term leadership has its description as the ability incorporated in a person, which influences many people. Through the activity of leadership, the leader provides guidance to the subordinates, so that they can perform the task in an effective and efficient way without the usage of any power ad authority. Through the leadership ability, the leader provides the valuable guidance to the subordinates or the groups. It is the widespread perception that the leaders work for the well-being of his subordinates and the group members. In history, the concept of leadership had different meanings. According to the ancient civilisation, the term leadership has its classifications as the authority holder, who can use his powers in order to control his subordinates. With the passage of time, the definition of leadership changed as the person having influence on the subordinates (Ehrenreich, 2002, p. 8).

Transformational Theory

Transformational theory gives the better understanding about leadership and management in the modern workplace.

The objective of transformational leadership is to "transform" people and organizations. It changes their minds and hearts, broaden their vision and their potential, help them conduct is consistent with their beliefs and motivation to make lasting changes (Sam, 2009, p. 112). A leader who has its focus on optimizing the growth of people keep on focusing with those changes that have requirements to optimize its performance, bring out the best.

Following are some classical factors included in a transformational leader:

a) Charisma: this is the ability that helps to stimulate in order to express the trust and respect.

b) Intellectual stimulation: This is the ability that helps in promotion of the new approaches to the conventional approaches. This ability also helps in giving focus on the problems solving, intelligence and rationality.

c) Inspiration: This is the ability that helps in stimulating the positivity and enthusiasm.

d) Psychological tolerance: This is the ability to transformational leaders that help in identification of mistakes, conflict resolving, and proper handling of hard times.

e) Building shared leadership ability based on the participation of culture: This ability helps the transformational leaders to in the creation of different conditions, which helps in increasing the cooperation of the followers (McAuley, 2006, p. 89). Through this ability, the transformational leaders help the followers in identification of mission, and increase the ability in to share the vision.

f) Another important factor of the transformational leaders is that they give more importance to the teamwork, and believe that teamwork is the best strategy that can help in the production of synergy in order to bring success for the organisation.
