Introduction

Two trusts merged into one to form Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) in October 2003. The names of the trust which were the part of the merger are Royal Shrewsbury hospital trust and the princess royal hospital tryst. Through this merger a single children division was created and hence became famous. The best part about trust SaTH was that it had the acute unit of the princess royal hospital, the country neonatal services both. This merger laid a great future opportunity for the trust to develop joint clinical practices and medical facilities to cater children. (Ahuja 2009, 98)

For the organizational development of this trust the shrews bury has a clear and defined vision and its value system and mission statement reflect the organizational goals of the trust. The mission of the trust is clinically sustainable services in a financially viable Teaching Foundation Trust which puts patients first.' Five basic values are part of the trust culture and they include excellence, integrity, probity, community and people.

In this report the organizational strategies of the trust are explained in detail and these strategies will lead to the development of the trust. The framework for future of the organization has been laid out by the organization so that the trust grows. The basic aim of the trust is to form such a culture which aid to the core values of the trust and which helps in delivery of their vision into their staff. This organizational strategy will provide future direction to the organization to change and transform the process of organization. It will also provide the steps which will be required by organization to build the capacity and capability of the organization. This will help the organization to achieve its goals. the trust has formed an action plan on which the organization will act to achieve organizational goals. The trust reviews the document on yearly basis to check whether they are aligned with it or not.

There are many definitions of OD given by many people. The business environment is rapidly changing and the world is transforming in to a global village. It is very important for the business to keep changing their strategies if they want to sustain in the long run. Organization these days need very firm strategies to compete with the business environment. The organizational development strategies are changing with the changing time to cope up with the business environment.

The standard definition of organizational development was given in 1969 by Bechkhard and it said that organizational development is a planned effort by the organization and the top management manages it to solve the day to day problems and organizational processes with the help of behavioral science.
