Abstract

Drug addiction is a form of slavery. This research paper aims to study book named Leaving Dirty Jersey in which the author is telling a story of a boy who got addicted to drugs when he was only 17 years old after his brother Joe introduced him to heroin. The data for this research was collected from secondary sources and main points were taken from the book. In this paper I have analyzed whether the methods used to take him away from drugs were effective or not and at the end other alternatives are given which could have been used instead of the methods used in the book. There are several methods that would have been used by James parents to help him in quitting drugs, among them are psychological methods, medical methods, religious and other methods. From this research I analyzed that the desire does not come from outside but from within. If a man knows that he does not need it, then throws without difficulties.
