Introduction

The aim of this research paper is to discuss the Legalization of Marijuana. Marijuana is a green or gray mixture of dried flowers cut into pieces of the plant Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana for medicinal purposes is called the therapeutic use of drugs known as a drug. The pharmacological effects of Marijuana have recently moved into the focus of much medical research. Many studies suggest that considerable potential drug in the pain, in depression and in many diseases such as cancer, AIDS and other life threatening diseases, the use of Marijuana is often prescribed by the doctors and physicians. The most commonly used drug is marijuana (5%) followed by cocaine (1.4%), while consumption of inhalants, hallucinogens and heroin is reported less than 1%.

Marijuana is the most common used illegal drug in the United States. The group of supporters and haters of marijuana is always there. There would always be a debate on whether to legalize it for the sake of freedom and happiness of the people or to be prohibited for the betterment of the society. The medical benefits stand side by side with the health risks it can cause and different ethical theories also show different views on the legalization of marijuana. Personally what one think differs from steps the government takes. But solely it comes to the point that whether the benefits of one drug can exceed its problems. The positive and negative aspects of marijuana are shown as well as the problems that are caused due to the laws related to marijuana (Ruschmann, pp. 9).

On the other hand, Marijuana in recent years has become a very common problem in the world. Its sale is prohibited and punishable by law but, despite this it is progressing day by day. Especially young generation and teenagers are using this drug as a trend in the society. The main problem in the use of marijuana is a lack of awareness of people about the consequences that the drug has some harmful drawbacks as well. Many do not even consider marijuana a drug, but do not realize how much they are mistaken.

Debate over Legalization of Marijuana

The debate on the legalization of marijuana has been in the air since many years. It is supported by showing its benefits but what are not shown are the negative aspects of using marijuana. Some may have proved marijuana to be healthy by showing its medical benefits but what is not revealed are the health risks related. It may lead to further harder drugs that are in the pipeline of abuse. Firstly why it should not be legalized is due to the health problems it causes. We all know that smoking is not healthy so how can marijuana be supported and promoted enough to be legalized. If we think and consider the facts and problems related to marijuana no one would like their family to live in an environment where marijuana is available for everyone.
